La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin

This prelude was influenced by a poem of the same title from Leconte de Lisle's "Poèmes antiques". Debussy uses a pentatonic scale to conjour up a Scottish atmosphere. I have attempted to evoke the delicate sonorities of the original piano version by using a chamber-sized orchestra, with the melody woven between woodwind, horn and strings. Duration: 2'15"
