Festal Paean is available on Angels of Creation (Sebastian Thomson), which can be ordered from here.

Festal Paean was composed for the organist Sebastian Thomson, who gave the first performance on 3 November 2012 on the organ of Keble College, Oxford, where Simon was then Fellow and Director of Music. The piece was written to highlight the many wonderful colours of the 2011 Kenneth Tickell instrument in the chapel there. Some improvisatory flourishes lead into the piece's main theme, a rhythmically exciting idea that recurs throughout the work. A central section explores further organ stop sounds with some contrasting jagged rhythms and the work concludes with some material on the manuals that is derived from the main theme, and an unexpected appearance of parts of the festive melody Gaudeamus igitur on the pedals.
