Love bade me welcome is perhaps George Herbert's most famous poem, and speaks of Love asking each one of us to sit and eat, regardless of our sins. It is appropriate for many occasions, including any celebration of the eucharist and especially on Maundy Thursday.

This composition uses a regular verse structure, with the same tune in three different permutations reflecting the text. It is scored for SATB without divisi, accompanied by the organ, making it an accessible (and tuneful) addition to your choir library.
