This short motet started life as the final section of a longer work, 'And I saw a new heaven'. The text comes from Revelation 21 which is often used for Remembrance services and other commemorative occasions. The original more lengthy motet was first performed by the Fisher Consort directed by Dr Jonathan Schranz in London, July 2016.
This spacious setting of the closing words 'And God shall wipe away all tears' would be an ideal choice for an introit or concert piece on the days either side of Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.
